Fiona’s passion lies in painting landscapes in her distinctive and contemporary style. She works predominantly in oils, using painting knives, to capture the peace and tranquillity of the wild, natural places that she loves to discover. Many people have commented on the calming nature of her work.
Wherever possible Fiona likes to work directly from the subject, painting in the open air in the places that she loves, interpreting the sights, sounds and smells in paint on canvas. But, when this is not possible, her sketches, photographs, and memories serve as the inspiration for her paintings.
Her work has won various awards and can be found in collections in the UK and internationally, including the USA, Canada, France, Ireland, Malta, Australia, and Switzerland.
Fiona lives & works in West Sussex, UK, where she is often to be found on location with her easel and paints.
Fiona occasionally accepts commissions for landscape paintings, creating lasting and treasured memories of special places beautifully interpreted in her unique style. She is also an accomplished professional portrait artist, having completed many successful commissions of both people and animals.
Another activity that Fiona finds very rewarding is doing painting demonstrations and running workshops for art groups. She also runs a local art group and welcomes the opportunity to contribute and help other artists as she has been helped in the past.
