In July we were privileged to have a portrait sketch demonstration from Andrew James – A member of the Royal Society of Portrait painters. In just under two hours he did a portrait sketch in oils from life. One of our newest members – Caroline Salmon – volunteered to sit for him. The portrait started off looking completely abstract and gradually came to life. As well as doing the painting he was able to chat and answer questions.
