MONICA DYER

When I was 17 I decided to become an artist. Having done art A level I did a foundation course at St Albans School of Art and then a degree in Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic. But the art world was harder than I thought it would be and, after a few years, I retrained in Corporate IT and left the world of art behind. About 6 years ago I started to do a part time course in portrait painting at the Reigate School of Art. I realised that I had never truly left that original ambition behind. I now do art full time. I’m still doing the portrait course but now I also do printmaking. I have started to take on portrait commissions and also enjoy landscape and still life painting.
